In an interview with Australia's Marie Claire, the Hollywood actress commented, "It's amazing to see your child feel empowered and inspired by role models that are so far beyond what you can imagine for yourself."

Scarlett noted that during her childhood, she did not have the opportunity to admire female role models in the superhero genre. The characters of that era were often portrayed as more glamorous. They lacked the empowerment that female superheroes have today.

These characters are breaking barriers and creating possibilities that I didn't have when I was a kid. It's both progressive and exciting. The two-time Oscar nominee said her daughter, who she shares with ex-husband Romain Dauriac, would likely choose Black Widow over Captain America in a hypothetical battle.

Disney announced that the release of Marvel's Black Widow has been rescheduled after initially being scheduled for release. Discussing the film's ongoing delay, Scarlett told Marie Claire that while she feels "disappointed," she realizes that there are "important events going on in the world that put things in perspective."

She added that when the release does happen, she'll be happy to provide audiences with "entertainment and escapism." In the action film, Scarlett's Natasha Romanoff is forced to go on missions on her own before developing a strong bond with Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, who also trained in the Red Room as Black Widow.
