The 30-year-old American actress was assessed by lingerie brand Bluebella and found to have the ideal “Golden Ratio” body shape after analyzing celebrity measurements. The ancient Greeks believed that the Golden Ratio existed for anything close to perfection. Scarlett’s bust, waist, and hip measurements are 96.4 percentile when compared to the Golden Ratio of Beauty.

Her bust-to-waist-to-hip measurement comes out to 1.560, which is very close to the Golden Ratio of Beauty, which is defined as 1.618. This ratio has been recognized as the standard of beauty for thousands of years. While scientists have previously used the ratio to assess the ideal arrangement of facial features, it has not been used to assess female body perfection.

In the study, commissioned by lingerie brand Bluebella, Kim Kardashian, 34, came in second with a 96.3 percent fit to the Golden Ratio. Helen Mirren, 69, came in third with a score of 95.6 percent. Bluebella also looked at historical celebrities and found Marilyn Monroe ranked fourth, just six percent below the ideal ratio.

Curvier women performed better in this assessment, with Kelly Brook coming in fifth. However, those with more muscular bodies were also represented in the top ten, with actress Cameron Diaz coming in sixth with 91 percent, while model Elle Macpherson came in seventh with a score of 88.3 percent. Just below Elle in eighth place was sexy actress Salma Hayek with a score of 88 percent, followed by Katy Perry in ninth with a score of 92 percent. Some celebrities exceeded the perfect Golden Ratio of 1.618, while others fell short; however, Scarlett's score was still the closest to the ideal.

Bluebella stumbled upon the Golden Ratio while researching sizing options for their upcoming women's lingerie collection. While reviewing photos of female celebrities, they found that they all fell within ±10 percent of the Golden Ratio, despite significant differences in shape and size. “We conduct extensive research to ensure our lingerie fits perfectly and to understand trends in body shape,” says Emily Bendell, founder of Bluebella. “While running computer simulations on famous women, we accidentally discovered that Scarlett Johansson’s figure is very close to the perfect Golden Ratio,” she explains.

Bendell adds, “It’s encouraging to see that women’s bodies vary significantly, from slim and athletic to full and curvaceous, illustrating that one doesn’t need to have a model-like figure to be considered beautiful.” The calculations were done by overlaying the Golden Ratio grid onto full-body photos of female celebrities, mapping their bust, waist and hip measurements.

The corresponding proportions are determined using a formula that takes into account the difference between the bust and waist, as well as the waist and hip measurements. The bust/waist ratio is calculated by taking the widest point of the bust and subtracting the narrowest point of the waist, then multiplying that number by the distance from the highest point of the bust to the lowest point of the waist. This result is then divided in half to get the difference. A similar process is used to calculate the hip/waist difference.
