In an emotional video detailing her experience with the health challenge, Kate is shown enjoying a summer holiday with Prince William and their children: Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

The video, filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk last month, shows the happy and competitive family playing cards at a table alongside Kate's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. It appears the Welsh couple have chosen an innovative method of keeping track of their card game scores; coffee capsules are used as markers for each player.

It appears that card games are a favourite pastime for William, Kate and their children, as footage from a picnic also shows them playing a deck of RAF 'Battle of Britain' cards. There's no doubt that these family games foster a spirit of friendly competition between them, especially since William and Kate are known for their competitive natures during royal engagements.

The topic was discussed on Mike Tindall's podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, last September, when the Duchess humorously remarked, "I'm not really a competitive person, I don't know where that comes from." She then jokingly mentioned that she and William have never completed a game of tennis, laughing as she said it became a mental challenge between them. When Mike asked if their three children showed signs of competitiveness, Princess Anne added, "Just a little bit, I would suggest."

Kate noted, "What's interesting is that they're all obviously very different temperaments." She expressed her curiosity about how their different personalities will develop as they explore different sports, as they are still quite young.

Other heartwarming moments from the home video include the Welsh family laughing while splashing in the waves on the beach, as well as rare displays of affection between William and Kate as they lounge on a picnic blanket, with the Prince pressing gentle kisses to his wife's cheeks and neck. As she looks ahead to her post-intensive care future, Kate shared that "there is a long road to healing and full recovery", stressing the importance of enjoying each day as she looks forward to returning to public duties.
