You won't believe what this cat did to its owner with Alzheimer's disease

Cats have a unique ability to comfort us during difficult times. They are very good at showing empathy to those they care about. A perfect example is Mushu, a cat who cares for his owner, Bob.

In 2009, Bob Wright’s life changed when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. With the support of his wife, Patricia, and Mushu, Bob found comfort during these challenging years. Mushu joined their family in 2013, shortly after Bob was diagnosed. The bond between Mushu and Bob was immediate.

Mushu, a friendly cat who loves human affection, sensed that Bob needed more comfort. Patricia believes that Mushu understood how much Bob depended on her. Deep down, Bob missed the gentle presence of cats, who provided him with affection and warmth.

While the other cats in the family are supportive, Mushu is always there for Bob and Patricia. For example, when Bob is taking a bath, Mushu stays close, meowing and nudging him, as if checking on him. However, Mushu still has his own cat responsibilities to fulfill.

Bob is happy to have Mushu on his lap; Mushu's presence helps calm Bob. When Mushu is busy, Patricia buys a robot cat to keep him company. Although Mushu doesn't like the robot cat, he accepts it when he sees that it makes Bob feel better.

Cats can be stubborn, but they also understand their owners' needs. As a retired veterinarian, Bob appreciates this trait in cats, even if he doesn't always remember the specifics. Mushu has become a source of joy for Bob, proving that cats can help us get through the toughest times.
